Enjoy the history of the region with these two cultural visits, dated from hundreds years!
Carré Py’ Hôtel*** is located at 15 minutes of the Mauzevin Castle, it was the former castle of Gaston III de Foix-Béarn named Gaston Fébus.
The Mauvezin Castle opens its doors everyday: this is the opportunity for you to discover the life in a Middle Age Bigorre’s castle. When you enter, you will be in full century XIV, traditional clothes, songs and dances, juggler, equestrian joust… Live the life of this medieval castle as spectator or even as actor!
Before coming back at the Carré Py’ Hôtel***, and to finish this historic trip on the Bigorre’s roads, make a stop at the Abbey of Escaladieu. The former place of the Cisterian monks, it became bigger and bigger throughout the time. Now, it is the property of General Council of the Hautes Pyrénées, which restores and gives life in this place which crossed the times.
